I am starting this blog to document some of the gaming things I do in a single place. even just so that I can keep track of it. I’ve been painting and gluing and showing pictures of the results on Facebook for years, now. It will be nice to have them in a single location so that I can look back and see if I’m improving.
Might as well start with what I am currently working on. Visited the Va Bazar this past weekend to bother the nice gentleman there with all of the model trains. In the past he has proven to be a great source of terrain and buildings for use in wargaming. Always a great price; everything just comes with a fine layer of protective dust.
This weekend was no disappointment.

Got a box full of ERTL farm building parts. Not all were there, but nothing a little work won’t fix up. Picked up a few more bits and parts, as well, that will be in future posts.
I was looking for parts to make a few large warehouse type buildings for an idea I have. There is a convention coming up in October that could use a big 7TV game. That is, if I can gather the parts together in time.
Buildings were the first priority.

Roofs and walls are all designed to be snapped together with joiners that were missing. You can see the tabs above. So, plastic card comes out and joints are filled.
Built the roof in two sections just because the building is going to be so large.
Out of the box of bits I am getting one large (14×9), on medium (9×9), and one smaller (6×7) building.

Some of the walls were designed to be open as part of the farm buildings. Had to fabricate doors or filler, but that was easy. These being government/industrial buildings makes the design aesthetic really boring and right in my skill set.
Next up, painting.
